Ground mounted solar pv systems are commonly used in large commercial or utility photovoltaic projects. A photovoltaic array mounted at ground level can be placed at the optimal orientation and angle for maximum energy production. Ground mounted solar panels are free standing and able to be installed anywhere on your property including the front side or backyard whereas rooftop mounted panels must be attached to your roof. Both options have unique benefits and make sense for different household situations and needs.
